PRODUCER - DIRECTOR

Matteo Cossi is a screenwriter, director and producer who graduated in Cinema Studies and Communication at the University of Pisa.

He studied directing and screenwriting in Florence and Rome, and at the New York Film Academy in New York City.

He attended masterclasses held by top film industry experts such as Robert Zemeckis, Martin Scorsese, Ron Howard, Ben Serasin, and many others.

 

In 2018 FEDIC named him among the emerging authors in a book presented at the Venice Film Festival in 2018, and as part of this event one of his works was screened. "Breathe", in which he worked as 2nd Unit Director was officially selected at the David di Donatello 2018. The English voice over is performed by William Dafoe (the actor is an Academy Awards 2019 nominated).

 

He took part in several projects in New York, London and Italy. Lately he was a main unit assistant director on Michael Bay's "Six Underground", starring Ryan Reynolds, and an assistant director on the third season of the TV series "Medici: The Magnificent".

His most recent projects include the latest Netflix series "From Scratch" starring Zoe Saldana (Avatar, The Avengers: Endgame), the new Amazon series "The Wheel of Time" starring Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Pride and prejudice ) and Daniel Henney (Criminal Mind, X-Men origins - Wolverine); and the 34th season of the CBS reality show "The Amazing Race".

He is currently a member of the official international jury of the Miami Independent Film Festival, and other than working in the film industry, he carries out projects ranging from commercials to videos and as a consultant for companies.
