WRITING THROUGH IMAGES
A GLIMPSE AT THE SCREENWRITING PROCESS
Every great story comes from an intuition, an idea. But how do we make sure we have a story? And how can this story become a script?
The course consists of 10 meetings in which:
we will talk about desires, obstacles and conflicts that dwell underneath the creative machine;
we will understand what is behind the creation of a hero or an antagonist, the importance of the themes and the structure of a movie;
we will look at famous screenplays
we will dissect scenes from produced movies;
- we will learn how to format a script according to industry standards;
we will learn how to write convincing dialogues;
we will learn that writing is rewriting;
we will collectively write a short script that will be made by the filmmaking course participants (if activated).
During the program students will be assigned practical exercises in order to get familiar with the subjects faced in class.
Participants can decide to publicly review their exercises in class in favor of a constructive debate.
The course is divided in two parts:
a theoretical-practical, in which the basics of the script are learned,
a creative-practical, in which a collective screenplay will be developed.
At the end of the program participants will receive an attendance certificate.
